The identification of thematic areas of multilateral partnership development between aebr and kharkov region in the context of relations history and european integration

Abstract

The authors studied the development of cooperation between Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) and Kharkiv region starting from 2004 until 2024. The period of work within the framework of the Slobozhanshchyna Euroregion and the creation of the AEBR Information Center in Kharkov was studied as the key milestones in the long-term history of relations. The authors analyzed the thematic areas of multilateral partnership between AEBR and the Kharkiv region, its impact on the development of multi-level partnership between AEBR and Ukraine, taking into account the 20-year history of relations, the 10th anniversary of the AEBR Info Center establishment in Kharkiv, its activity as one of the coordinators of territorial and cross-border cooperation development in Ukraine. The authors proposed further scientific research include the identification and project formulation of thematic functional areas for the development of multilateral partnership between the AEBR and Kharkiv region in the context of AEBR Information Center work, AEBR Executive Committee and AEBR Task Force on External Borders, creation of the laboratory for the development of territories, communities and regions, supported by the Executive Committee of the AEBR and S. Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics, formation of priorities for the development of multi-level partnerships and the implementation of standards and tools for good governance, strengthening cooperation between scientists, researchers and practitioners, and creation of databases in the area of development of territorial and cross-border cooperation between Ukraine and the EU.
